Christopher Nielsen is an illustrator located in Sydney Australia. He completed a Bachelor of Arts Liberal Studies but has subsequently failed to make any use of this whatsoever. Instead he works as a freelance illustrator, creating images for all sorts of clients around the world. ??His work has been acknowledged by The Society of Illustrators New York, Communication Arts, The Australian and New Zealand Illustration Awards and Luerzer's Archive 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide. In 2004 he visited New York with his portfolio and was lucky enought to meet the lovely Sari Levy of Levy Creative who has represented him in the US since. ??This year he has also teamed up with the good people at Phosphor Art in the UK. Christopher likes to work with people in lots of different industries to keep things interesting. Some of his clients have included: AMP Henderson Global, ABC, TIME, ANZ Bank, The Bulletin, Subaru, Hardie Grant Publishing, The LA Times, Yalumba Wines, Atlanta Magazine, ComputerWorld, The Sydney Morning Herald, Readers Digest, Cosmos Magazine, Inside Sport, The Australian Financial Review, Colorado Magazine and Waitrose Food Illustrated. ??In between jobs he can be found yodelling Hank Williams songs to his very tolerant wife Suzy Q and unusually large black cat Desmond.
Influences/Inspiration
Signage and packaging in the Chinatown of any city, Outsider Art, The 50's, Old matchbooks, Russian space travel, The Wild West. Illustrators like Brian Cronin, Calef Brown and Jeffrey Fisher are inspirational. Nate Williams is pretty inspirational for putting together Illustration Mundo too!
